Toronto, Ontario – Vena Resources Inc. (TSX.V: VEM, Lima: VEM, Frankfurt: V1R, OTC: VNARF) is pleased to announce that Kirsten Marcia, a professional geologist with a strong marketing background has joined the Company as Director of Investor Relations. Kirsten will be responsible for increasing exposure for Vena Resources to financial institutions, newsletter writers and research analysts. Kirsten has had an outstanding career with Shore Gold as Exploration Manager on their Star Diamond Project over the period 2000 to 2004, and most recently as Shore Gold’s in house Diamond Data Analyst. During that time, Kirsten also played an active role promoting Shore Gold to the investment community and as a representative and presenter at numerous investment conferences.
Vena has also hired James W. Stewart, Ph.D., P.Geo. to guide the Company’s overall exploration efforts in Peru. Dr. Stewart took early retirement from Newmont and currently has an international geological consulting practice in Vancouver, B.C. His career in mineral exploration has been almost equally divided between the Precambrian shields and younger, cordilleran terrains and has embraced a wide variety of commodities – with precious metals predominant in the last two decades. Dr. Stewart has spent 16 years living in South America with extended periods in Peru, Chile and Brazil. Major mining companies for which he has worked include Anglo-American, Brascan, B.P. Minerals (now incorporated in RTZ) and Newmont. Among a number of successful projects in which he has had an active role in recent years are Veladero (gold in Argentina), Don Mario (Bolivia) and Eskay Creek (gold and silver in British Columbia.) Dr. Stewart will act as Vena’s Qualified Person (QP) and will be very active in the Uranium exploration program Vena Resources is currently undertaking with Cameco in Peru.
Juan Vegarra, Chairman and CEO commented:
“Dr. Stewart’s overall knowledge of base metals and precious metals as well as his background in Uranium exploration make him an ideal person to help us guide the exploration efforts across all 80,000 hectares we control in Peru. Vena today has 240 people working in all of its projects in Peru, the foundation is set and the story needs to be more widely told – Kirsten’s technical skills and marketing knowledge will assist Vena with communicating Vena’s sociallyresponsible operating basis to the investment community.”
